That's what I did..
I was spending over 15$ a day In and drinks, now I got it down to about 80 every 2 weeks.
I also don't go out and eat so much, maybe once per paid period. It doesn't sound like much, but in the past 2 months Ive put back well over 1,000$ easy.
I used to be pay check to paycheck, with less then 100 after paying rent and bills. But I have a false zero at $1000 just in case, and when I get below $1500 in the bank I turn into a fucking hermit.
Which sucks, because I absolutly hate spending money now. What I have isn't enough so I dont want to spend it on anything.. I used to blow money like crazy and spend whatever I could on my car, but not anymore..
Something I'm going to have to overcome to finish the top end kit I've pieced together.
Being a broke dick sucks...

You need cash before you can invest.
Christmas lights can pay well. I used to make spring semester beer money hanging lights over thanksgiving. I busted my ass, but could hang 3 big houses in a day. They come own even faster in January. I got $200 house; that was almost 20 years ago.
I regularly pay $100 day for unskilled labor, but expect you to work your but off for that. I usually hire Mexicans hanging out in front of the post office..... I dont care who you are if you'll work hard.
Pizza delivery can pay better then most part time work....but t is very hard on your ride.
Have you cat your expenses to the one to save the cash you need. Goodby smartphone data plan, goodby cable/satellite, goodby eating out, Goodby beer money (maybe that is going to far)...
