Are you seriously that dense? To you, a shooting in public somehow equates to a home invasion? You're not making the fuzz look very good here. At the time, it appears that the officer had no knowledge of the individuals prior (or lack of) crimes.

If an able bodied citizen shoots an unarmed person who "chased them", they are going to jail.

This officer was FORCED to go outside? Alone? He had nothing on him but a pistol and was forced to go outside. Couldn't (if he was alone) call the city for backup?

Considering that backup arrived "immediately" after the shooting, apparently he had backup nearby.

And the supreme court has ruled that the Police are not actually required to do a fucking thing for the populace. I'm guessing that it's just the warm and fuzzies that keep most cops doing the job.
