  • There's a GD brewery in Dallas?!!

I didn't know that! I just got back from the fair and tasted some deep elum brews and they were great! I never new dallas had its own beer. Now I just need to know where to find it. Maybe at the brewery itself? I'm sure many of you think their beers suck and that one of them taste like fried monkey jizz burnt in an old skillet over a tire fire on the hottest day in june, but I thought it was good.....shit, "it'll get you drunk"

Rhar is in the area too. I think it's closer to Fort Worth though.

            Rahr is fuckin tasty.

Deep ellum brewery is right under the 30 overpass at Malcom X and their double brown is really good. but been hard to find lately

Lakewood brewery is actually out in Garland over off miller/jupiter by the heliport IIRC.

Yes! That's the one! Had that to and it was OK. If I find them at specks I'm buying them all. I don't know if it was the weather but I was really diggin those brews, so nice and cold on a hot day. They really hit the spot but for 6 tickets at taste, I only got a taste. It was like a 10ml medicine cup.

Do you remember which beer it was? I really like their dunkel and the Oktoberfest this year is pretty good. Not a fan of their wheat beer. I really want to do the brewery tour

Welcome to 20 years ago. The Rahr Brewery does tours and tastings. Pretty cool little place not far out of downtown Fort Worth. I'm a fan of the Ugly Pug.

Franconia's Kolsch is pretty tasty. As far as I know they still aren't bottling anything though, just kegs. They do have the little 3 gallon kegs though. In addition to Deep Ellum you have Peticolas, Four Corners, Lakewood and Firewheel around Dallas.

Rahr is considerably larger than all of them but they all make good beers. Try the Revolver stuff too if you can find it. They officially open their doors on the 20th but have lots of stuff at the local bars now. Their brewmaster has a heck of a pedigree and he has enough money behind him to produce what he wants, not necessarily what turns a profit.

I try to support all of the local breweries. Rahr is my favorite still but I am a little biased. Wait for the Bourbon Barrel Aged Winter Warmer this year, it's going to be spectacular. Also the Angry Goat should be in stores very soon, it's a Doppel Weizen Bock and is pretty much the best beer I've ever had.

<--- works a side job at Rahr

Deep Ellum, Rahr, Franconia, and the best of them all Peticolas. You can get most of those at The Bottle Shop, and some Whole Foods carry them. I believe they all do tours.

Every Wednesday from 5:00-7:30 and Saturdays from 1:00-3:00. $10 gets you a tour, souvenir pint glass and 3 samples of whatever is pouring. We nearly always will have Pug (black lager), Buffalo Butt (red lager), Blonde (Helles style lager) and Stormcloud (our German style IPA). In addition we still have a few kegs of our fall seasonal Gravel Road which is a German style Altbier.

Additionally on Wednesday we'll generally have something special on tap like a barrel aged Oktoberfest or some non filtered Bucking Bock and on Saturday there is always a decent band playing.
