I've paid my own ins. on my rents policy from age 16-19. Drove a 2003 Gt for a year, then a 90 Bronco for a while, a couple 93 mark viii's. The mark viii's were the cheapest, around $400/6mths. The mustang was $475/6mths, bronco was $800/6mths probably because it is a 4x4. This was through allstate with having 5 other vehicles on the policy along with h/o's ins which made it cheaper. All were liablity only.

      Hope this helps.

Wow that not bad. I remember paying $400/month on cars when I was younger and that was with a clean record and before they based it on credit scores. I just had my own policy so that sounds like the difference.

Yeah, if it is your own policy, you get screwed. I can remember purchasing an 89gt from a young guy who also had a Tundra. He said his insurqnce payment was more than his truck. I just about shit myself.

Oh, and those rates are with 0 hits on the record, forgot to post that up. Almost 20 and have never had any sort of wreck or tickets. (knock on wood)

He is on our policy, with a 4 banger 1990 Mustang and it runs about $140/month. He did their safe driver program which also cut a little bit off of that, like maybe $15.

Mine was about $300/month on a 96 GT with a good student discount on my parents' policy.

EDIT: Full coverage (if that wasn't obvious from the premium).

Best thing to do is look at what cars are most frequently stolen in Texas and which ones are involved the most in teen accidents. If they're on the list I would avoid them.

My TA cost 150/mo when I was 19. Liability only on the rents. My Altima was one of the cheapest, i think 100/mo at 17.
