effing jury summons!!

I got picked a whole lot when I was in Iraq. Since ive been home I havent got a summons. I cant wait! I don't know why people hate it, but I've also never gone.

It's never bothered me much, but out of the 7 or so times I've had it I've been fortunate enough to work for a company with Jury pay. I've also never gotten selected. This last time was the first time I even got to go through the actual selection process. I can understand some irritation from people who don't get paid by their company to be there, especially if they are struggling to make ends meet.

I went Monday. Was second to last person in the whole building sitting in a chair waiting for them to call my name. At least my case was dismissed though

I've lived in Dallas my entire life, had a driver's license since 1988 and been a registered voter forever, and have only gotten 1 jury summons. Once the attorneys in the case saw that I was a lawyer, I was gone! Not too many attorneys want an attorney in the jury.

Don't answer any nonrequired questions on the card you turn in. I'm pretty sure being a single white male with a college education is what landed me on the jury last time I went.

After spending 2 years as a witness in a false dwi and imprisonment case with DPD on one of my friends (not guilty btw) I have absolutely no desire to see Frank Crowley's statue or deal with his crazy ass parking situation anymore.

What have some of you guys done to get out of it?

Would really hate to have to go and explain to 3 Sheriff's that my smoke is actually from a an e-cig for 30 minutes again.. Seriously..

Do what I do. Tell them you have a mental illness that prevents you from being able to handle being blocked into a small area with a lot of people
