  • Mortgage question

    My mortgage is due on oct 15. If we close on the 18th, will we still have to make October's mortgage payment? Anyone dealt with a similar scenario? Id like to avoid another $2500 payment if I could.

          It's a technicality; but your mortgage is probably due on th first~late fees aren't charged until the 15th. Is the lender local? If yes I'd call and ask to wait until the 18th. If it's one of the big banks don't waste your time; you'll never find somebody to talk to that can answer you

          One last thought. Closings get delayed all the time, be prrepaired for that possibility.

                I'm so sorry its B of A. Their version of customer service is to kick you in the balls and charge you a fee for the service.

                When a buddy of mine closed on his house mid month he only made prorated payment.for the last 10 daysof the month. Not sure who the mortgage is with.

                    You may accrue a late fee depending on the lender's policy, but no 30 day late will be placed on your credit since you are not 30 days late. I do this just about daily on files.

                        Yes, you have to pay it.

                        I tried to get out of it in 2007 when selling a house under the same circumstances and had to write a check at closing for it.
