I usually use HD and/or Lowes for tools but a lot of my materials come from Woodcraft, Rockler, or small lumber yards like Woods of Mission Timber in Sanger. I also get hardwoods off Craigslist.

same with all HD's, difference is you can walk in/out however you choose... whereas Lowes auto doors literally won't open for you if you're trying to go through the "wrong" one

Elliots used to rock when I was a kid. Last year my Dad moved back to Arlington, and the closest hardware store is the Westlake Ace/Truevalue. That store was my grandfather's favorite when he was alive, and when he used to come visit the metroplex (from Lawton), he'd spend an hour in there every time, just walking up and down the aisles checking everything out. Little stuff like that doesn't mean much when you're a kid, but it's cool to look back at, now.
