As far as dogs go, I agree with the comment about the arguing and fighting in the house agitating the dog. If the baby cried or or move at all one the dog bit him, the attack would intensify and the helpless child would lose. Also, we had a 6 month old Great Dane puppy who became extremely upset when she heard a baby or child's cry/voice. We were very shocked by her actions, had never seen anything like that in a puppy who had never been exposed to children.
