    No.....

I replaced the capacitor, and it took forever to come on, again... I finally got it to come on and it does the same thing. After being on for a few minutes (wide range could be 4 seconds or 20 min) the break trips and shuts off.

I am about to call someone...

Highly recommend Battson. Called about 2 hours ago and just left. He saw that I installed the capacitor myself and suggested f I wanted to install a hard start myself and save I could. If he did it it would have been mich more.

That post was jacked. I was typing on phone while being bitten by flies.

I called around 5:45 he arrived 1.5 hours later. He looked over my system and in about 5 minutes told me that was most likely the cause. He said since I installed the capacitor myself the hard start is basically just as easy. I could pay another $60 and do it myself or he could be back tomorrow (with the part) and do it for quite a bit more.

I appreciated the honesty more than anything. Definitely use him in the future if I have more ac issues (hope not though).

More or less what I meant. He won't steer you wrong. He talked us out of a bunch of silly spending on our stuff.

                Ac is still messed up.

Replaced capacitor, added a hard start kit and replace the breaker. After all of that it still trips the breaker and the unit outside stops....

When Brandon came out the other day he said it isn't the compressor but I dunno what it could be at this point....

                Suggestions?

Mods feel free to move this now..

Fan motor? You could ohm it out to see if it is shorting out.

Sounds like the motor is out. If the breaker is tripping its not the capacitor. Most likely the motor is going out pulling to many amps and tripping the breaker.

You can check the motor leads to ground and you should not have continuity.

My neighbor does ac work on the side and knows his stuff very well if you want his number.

I replaced the motor on mine. I think it was doing what you are describing. Hardest part was getting the fan off.
