This guy, jumping on the "insult the flying jew" train!

Ya, I did my main cable in 00 cable and it was a little pricey, but the 4 gauge stuff was really cheap.

The 0 gauge is heavy but its just piece of mind knowing that it will never be an issue. Mine has a 0 gauge wire from the battery to the front of the car, positive and negative.

99% chance that walmart wire is aluminum which means less current than copper.
If the wire you run gets worn through, you did not loom it and ran it carelessly.

Don't use welding cable in automotive applications; the insulation is not resistant to oil or fuel.

I have a few spools of wire that is suitable for what you are doing but all of it is black. West Marine also carries top quality marine wire but the insulation is not the cross linked stuff.

This seller on Ebay also has ok prices and fast shipping.

If you're getting enough gas/oil on an alternator charge cable to degrade the integrity of the covering - you have a lot worse problems.

I'm pretty sure he did, but if you've seen the problems we've had with his car - you'd know why it's like that. lol.

Yes, every single electronic device in the car is grounded to the battery. This way there is a direct path to ground for all electronics. NO chassis grounds.

                          This is good practice.
