This story is hilarious and there are even more twists and turns not mentioned. That said, it is unfortunate this has been so widely disseminated in the media as it really isn't anyone's business what the owner of this vehicle and/or his business partners choose to do with their cars which number way more than a 458 and this Super Trofeo.

In short, if they want to let a 15 year old girl drive one of their cars to school and she can legally do so, then more power to them.

Sure seems like he took it rather personally, didn't it?

          I see...you're correct.

Along the same lines, last year I bought a 1993 Chrysler Concorde from an old neighbor. He bought it new in 93. It had 40,000 miles on it when I bought it.

              I agree.

It's easy to keep the miles down if you don't have a commute 5 days a week. I've put only 2,500 miles on my car in the 3 years that I've owned it, and that includes the 800 mile drive from San Diego to Sacramento.

I'm a bit jealous as well, but I agree that it's nobody's business what he legally does with his property.

If it was a story saying that she was killed in a crash, everyone would be all up in that business.

I only know him through my interactions with him on DFW Auto Club, but I am just looking at it from his perspective. I'd be a little upset if a story went national disclosing a girl I know driving one of my $300k cars to a high school. The story then adds the name of the high school which could potentially compromise her safety.

Then again, I wouldn't do that personally myself. Even if I had $100 million in the bank, a friend of the family that is 15 wouldn't drive anything of mine that isn't a Honda Accord or something similiar. I would deem the risks too high to give her a high performance sports car. Risks being her safety and the safety of those around her.

If something happens, it's just cleansing of the gene pool. The girl shouldn't have a hardship license apparently, and she definitely shouldn't be driving that car. I bet she isn't covered under insurance to drive it. Where's TruBlu to go hands on and throw her in the pokey?

If she was driving legally, and had her mother's permission, it's nobody's business. Just because the rarity and cost of the car in question makes for a juicy news story, that doesn't make it any differen't than little Johnny who wrapped his Mustang GT around a tree, or even dumbass steven that rolled his "safer" '85 Ranger down the highway doing 85.

Only you can say with absolute certainty, but I seriously doubt you would be singing the same tune if that were the case.

Eh, I got to drive a BMW 850 when I was 16. $110k car isnt a 1/2mil Lambo, and it was only to sonic, but same principle.

I personally would react the same way as with the two scenarios mentioned above. There are plenty of new Mustangs, in highschool parking lots across the country, and stupid shit can be done in a 300hp v6, as well as a 400hp GT. The cost and rarity of the car is irrelevant.

I'm not saying that I agree with his and her parenting choice in the matter, but it's not mine or anyone elses place to admonish them, certainly not on the basis of the vehicle involved. I did some pretty dangerous stuff in my 4 cylinder LX back in the day.

It's a simple case of "haters gonna hate."

Damn. Just imagine the drop in value when some pimple headed teenager gets jealous of her and keys the paint.

My buddy's brand new 85 IROC Camaro got keyed on both sides back in the mid 80s at Berkner High School in Richardson. His parents gave it to him as an early graduation present.

Anyone know if the high schools have camera's in parking lots now?
