  • New mountain bike trail opening in Frisco

This is roughly a few miles from the house (on Teel near Panther Creek), so I will be putting this use. Should be open sometime in October.

I really need to get a bike and that's close enough to justify it.

My first introduction to trail riding was the Grapevine trail. Holy mother of fuck was it hard. Ain't been back since.
How do we forget ourselves? How do we forget our minds?

I need to start putting money away for a mountain bike again. I've got about $600 that I put away for a mountain bike a few months back and just stopped putting money into it. With as many trails as there are around here, there's no reason I should have stopped.

I have only been to one trail and that's Isle Du Bois at Ray Roberts, I have been there half a dozen times or more and its a little much (for me) so hopefully this one is easier so I will go more often.

I didn't spend much more than that on my Trek, and its a great bike IMO.

Saving for an expensive bike seems like an excuse. If you really have the desire, plunk down $200 for a craigslist bike and ride. Stop putting it off.
Can you really justify a $1,000 bike? I know a lot of folks that ride enough to, but can YOU?

My buddy gave me a free, shit mountain bike. I ride the fucking wheels off it, and have a blast.

Good for you Harrison, glad you were able to have someone give you a free mountain bike. I don't have that luxury nor do I care to waste money on a $200 craigslist bike that's going to have cheap components that won't hold up to the elements over time. I'm not new to bike riding by any means. I raced road bikes for a couple years right out of high school and I know what I'm looking for, so yes, I can justify spending $1000 on a bike. I also know that I'll ride the wheels off of a bike when I get one.

I spent some money on a Specialized Hardrock 29 and it's been great. I live right by the Richardson Bike Mart in Frisco, so this is pretty close to me. We should have some sort of get together there at some point so I can show everyone how out of shape I am!

Go to bike mart and get the specialized crosstrail hybrid for $520 or $580 with disc brakes.

That's bad ass guys! Glad to see more trails popping up in the Df-Dub. Hopefully I can take my mtb up there one time and get to riding trails out there.

I've been looking closely at the ROCKHOPPER COMP 29 and like bikes.
