When were you at Phoenix? I was there Jul2006-Jul2008 then again Nov2011.

I get paid a little more than a soldier that does the same job as I do. I would rather look at the smiles of gratitude when they get hot showers and chow after being outside the wire.

By the looks of it, and I will know more in two weeks, I can hold this job for another 2 years solid if I want. Word is I am going to be promoted as soon as my days in country add up enough to satisfy HR. They tried to promote me last year but I needed a break.

Never saw Eggers, but compared to Mehtar Lam and the nearby COPs...I loved Phoenix. Hell, we were burning shit and pissing in tubes at COP Bad Pakh. Airborne was pretty nice too, but we didn't get to live there long. Good luck all the same man, let me know if you ever need anything.

Thanks Mehtar Lam and COP Bad Pakh were outside my AOs that I worked in. But in 5 1/2 years I had the pleasure of going to 35+ camps 90% of which I had been to a dozen times each. For a few years I was always on a rotary or convoy from one base to another. Hopefully that traveling is behind me.
