  • Front License Plate

I know it's the law and I know that you can get ticketed if you do not have a front license plate on your ride but I'm just not a big fan of drilling holes into my mytic's front bumper.

I'm moving back to Texas in a couple of weeks and I'm wondering do you guys have a front plate on your weekend ride? Do the LEOs really enjoy writing no front license plate tickets?

    Thanks guys.

i ran with no front plate for years and didn't have a problem. you could stick it on the dash in the front window or you could zip tie it to the grill of the bumper. or just drill the holes and be done with it.

No front plates on any of my toys. I got a warning one time and a ticket one time for the Z06. Luckily I had the license plate holder for the front so I just put it on to get it signed off and then put the filler plate back in.

I haven't had a problem in the year and a half I've been here... I keep it in the front windshield. I've been pulled over and drive past a speed trap 3x a week, so I think it really depends on where you live and the cop if they will ticket for it.

Yes, it's the law, and one that is strictly enforced.

I would drill 1/2" holes in the bumper and mount it with Grade 8 hardware.

Also, just to be safe, put both your plates on the front bumper.

This. I would also get some loctite on it, then maybe some silicone sealant.

I keep one on the truck, but didn't have one on the Mach and don't have one on the vette. So far in 5 or 6 years of driving without a front plate I've got 1 warning from a DPS down in Alpine.

Didn't have one for the 7 years I had the 88 and got a warning once....

                        That's it...

I think it all depends on the city\cop...

I do believe that there are some mounting kits that you can use that don't require the drilling of holes though....

Yep, depends on if that city wants to increase revenue and the cop wants to make his quota. Bullshit law for sure.
