How big is your kid? Can they work a clutch? My cart is setup for me and I am 5'9"; any bigger and he/she won't fit into it. Would be happy to let them run around the track in Cresson a few times.
Magnus, I am your father. You need to ask your mother about a man named Calvin Klein.

          Pole Position in plano.

Speed Zone if you want to bump and slide.

North Texas Kartway if you want to really race.
NTK is not a rental track.
We give demo rides after the races are done in a low HP kart if you just want a ride.

I went to the pole position in frisco on Thursday night and it was badass! the track is a little narrow, it makes passing tricky!

DKC's probably the best right after NTK.. but NTK isn't a rental place sadly. My brother-in-law, his brother, and I all arranged a 3 hr session for my BIL's bachelor party though.. that track's better than DKC's if you can find a way to run on it.

                    Sorry Leah,
North Texas Kartway ( North Texas Karters ) is a race only track. For a ride come out and we give demo rides after the races. Or set up a time with a Director for a meet and ride.

We don't do rentals, but have a couple of kart shops that offer "sessions" for a fee in a race kart.

NTK is club owned, join the club, get a key to the track, first time membership is about $350.00 a year pro rated from March. I think it's around $150.00 as of this month. Do some work days at the track and you can get your membership down to $100.00 a year. A LOT less than DKC and you don't have to worry about rental karts and have more access to track time.

I am a member, been a Race Director, am currently writting the newsletter, and a flagman. If you want to go check out the races for free I can get you and family a pass to get in.

I would go to Pole Position for a birthday party. In Plano. They are set up for that sort of thing.

Pm me if you want to talk more in depth about Karting and I will get you my number.

                    Thanks for looking at NTK.

NTK is an International Karting Federation sactioned track. ( IKF ).http://www.ikfkarting.com/

It's more west coast related than the WKA ( World Karting Associaton ). WKA is more east coast related.

We are one of the top 5 IKF tracks in the nation.

Typical open wheel racing, no one can get togeather untill everyone runs out of money. IE: CART vs IRL, World of Outlaws vs. ASCS ect.ect.ect..

Its really just who provides us with insurance for the racer's and track.

IKF provides us with a set of rules for international kart classes coverage. Yamaha, TaG, Rotax, 80/125 cc Shifters ect. They also have a "local option" rule with lets us run a couple of classes that are based on lap times ( run what you brung ), bracket racing stlye.

Most people pick a class and go with it, but years ago the Bracket class was the biggest 'cause of all the different types of motors. Money is tight right now and few people do not have the want to not run in an speicific class.

Got to bragg some, but I did win the track championship in brackets in '02 with a 100 cc Yamaha. Consistent high finishes payed off, wasn't the fastest but always on the podium.

Turned 3 karts over during a "race" we weren't supposed to be having. We were high as a kite, they should have never let us in.

Good info, thanks! He's been riding dirt bikes and driving karts since he was 4, but nothing on a regular basis-just more for fun. He would absolutely love to come see some. That would be badass-thanks!

He is serious, but I know it takes serious coin, too and unless he could get sponsored (which I have no clue about), there is no way we could support him financially. I know it takes a lot to get started and stay going. He'd drive his ass off and would do anything it took to be able to race.
