Got my 5.0 back from the body shop... am I too picky?

Some of you know..I had a run in with a guard rail about a month ago. I got my car back today. I won't say where I took it until I give them a chance to make it right. I was worried about the body lines. There was damage to the rear quarter, front fender, door and bumper. The body lines came out great....but the paint however. Every surface that was repainted has a hand full of bumps...like there was something on the surface that was painted over. You cant tell from a distance as I didnt notice until I got home. They also buffed the shit out of some areas and scratched the paint. I took it to this shop hoping it would look like the brand new(1200 miles) car it was before it was crashed. Just wanted some opinions...but I think this warrants an entire repaint.

I don't know if it warrants an entire paint job, but they need to fix what your not happy with for sure. A new car should look new after a repair.

You also need to post the shops name, not because thye are not going to fix it, but so the rest of us know not to go there.

I had a friend tell me that body work is either right or wrong. If you can tell something was messed up it is not right period. This was a conversation we had because I rebuilt a engine in a 4 wheeler for a guy doing body work on wifes car and at an angle you can see waves in it and I was asking if I was being too picky.

If you are not happy talk to them about it. Hell your ins prob covered it. Get them involved if you have too.

If you aren't happy with the work, copy and paste the newest titty pics in the nsfw forum, tell them it's your pissed off boyfriend, if that doesn't get your car fixed, nothing will .

I have talked to them. Im taking it back tomorrow. Like I said, I was just wanting opinions on if maybe I was too picky. If the make it right its fine...but damn they had it over a week longer than expected and for the past 3 days when I would call to check on it...they were doing some buffing on it. I was wondering what the hell needed that much buffing.

Prob trying to get all that trash out. Sucks but to answer your question no your not being picky but I'm sure theyll make it right if it is a reputable place. That's their bad n they know it just keep a cool head it'll get you further.

they should make it right, but as an example of how "right" some well known body shops expect to get it, craigs collision won't work on any corvettes because the owners are "too picky" (this is coming directly from a buddy who is a service writer for them).

i agree with the above statement that if you can identify problems the work wasn't done correctly.

Yeah, I didnt take it to a chain. Its a reputable place as far as I know. We'll see what happens tomorrow. Im sure they will make it right.
