Max's wine dive is one of our favorites too. Make a meal out of the appetizer menu. For scenery, climb the stairs to Mount Bonnell or hit the Oasis on lake travis.

Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?
You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

OP - I hear Franklin's is hands down the best in Austin proper. Go for a burger and the green chile fries at Casino el Camino.
Black's BBQ
Kruez Market
Smitty's Market

LOL @ Franklins BBQ. Is it good yea, but not worth all the hype. I think most of the hype comes from marketing and every TV show that does a story on that place shows the line. You see a long line and you think gosh it must be awesome. Truth is Franklins is small and doesn't hold that many people that's why you see the line out the door into the parking lot. The other lie is they sell out everyday. Well that ain't hard to do when your cooking 10 to 15 briskets and trying to serve 400 customers. They don't have the pit capacity to feed alot of folks.
Now on the other hand take Salt Lick, Kreuz, Smittys, City Market, and plenty of others. They can seat a couple hundred people at one time and still have 150 people standing in line. Not to mention most of those places feed over 2k people on a busy Saturday.

Salt Lick is WAY too salty. Like they are trying to cover up subpar meat or something.Originally posted by BradMBut, just like condoms and women's rights, I don't believe in them.Originally posted by LeahIn other news: Brent's meat melts in your mouth.
