I believe I found the site where you got the 40,000 students. I sure as hell can't find the location of the $35k median salary.

Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

The median salary does seem low but law is not an enticing field right now. I very briefly considered it. Most lawyers that I know advised against it lol.

Right, but I'm thinking more along the lines of $60 - $65k. Surely if you were considering it, you'd be sure you were going to a top school which would be significantly above median.

A girl I work with's husband just graduated and passed his bar exam. He is making $40k starting at a law firm. Apparently you dont make money until you become a partner.

And my friend just started at $110k. We could "n = 1" each other all day. I don't think the median starting salary for a law student is $35k.

                  • It all depends on what you specialize in. Not all attorneys make a high salary, some choose to be public sector and start out close to teachers.

                    • I am a geologist and absolutely love it. Yes calculus was a bitch but all worth it. Think hard before you even consider grad school too, there are several independent oil companies that would prefer someone they could train up right versus the years in grad school. Major companies on the other hand will not even consider you without at least a MS, and they have schools they recruit specifically from anyway.

feel free to call me you have my # with any questions about it.

If I had a JD and was making 40K I think I would have to reevaluate a lot of choices I made up to that point lol.

                        • All the reasons above weighed heavy in my choice to withdraw from law school. If the world is nothing but JD's and MBA's then not much is going to get done. Making a 3-4 yr commitment with a glut of attorneys flooding the market didn't sit to well, not to mention shitty economy.

You didn't think about that before moving halfway across the country??

                              • Well, I joined the Navy right after high school and got into nuclear weapons, not a very good market on the outside. Now I work supporting a weapon system the Army and Marine Corps uses for one of the worlds largest military contractors. Is it bad I want to ditch this all and open up my own custom car shop?
