If I had it to do over, I would have finished college at A&M right out of high school then gone on to law school, don't really care which one, and focused on real estate. Then I would have moved back to Corpus to partner with my dad in the title company business as well as real estate development.

A little over a year ago, he purchased Bay Area Title Company in Corpus, and my step sister is the attorney of record and his partner.
Sweet, I work for a title co in Grayson county right now. I have a little over 10 years experience and can pretty much do everything from receiving orders all the way through to issuing the title policy. Since I've been back they've basically given me free reign to do whatever I want. I just go around see who is behind and get them caught up. I like not having to be pinned down into one job title. Doing the same job everyday at a title company can get boring fast!

I also hold a BS in IT and a MS in Information Systems. As you can see, I have not used them at all.
If I could go back and do it again, I would have stayed in school, finished my BS degree, applied to Law School, and became a Criminal defense Lawyer.
My wife says that it is not to late for me to do, but at 40, with a small family, I can't afford to not work, and I would not want to do a 4 year law school program.

If I had to do over, I'd guess it would be something a little more active. I make a decent living and the work is not bad. However, long hours and drinking stuff to keep you up long hours is not healthy. Due to the long hours it's counter productive to working out.Originally posted by MR EDDU defend him who use's racial slurs like hes drinking water.

I can say only for sure what I would not have done.
I would not have skipped going to college when I got out of the Marines
I would not have quit KBR in August 2010 and taken the Fluor position.
I would not have quit Fluor in December of 2011
I guess I would have tried to get into KBR a long time before I did in 2006.Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

I worked my way through school as a Veterinary Tech, at one of the most prominent animal hospitals in Dallas. The Vet that owned the clinic turned out to be a strong mentor influence in my life, and of course a very dear friend. He made me an offer that I regret not taking until this day....get a Bachelors in Biological Science and he would pay my way through Vet School. The return was that I would've had to come back and work a pre-agreed pay structure in his clinic for minimum 5-years after becoming a Vet.
At that time the market was over-run with Veterinarians, and most fresh out of school weren't making nearly enough to justify the 7-8 years they'd spent in school....even though I loved the work and environment, I didn't see it being a place where I could live financially comfortable down the road.....so I turned the offer down and went for an Applied Science degree instead.
It's not that I have any real regrets...I love the company that I work for today, been with them 14 years and planning to be here until I retire. However I do often wonder how things would be if I had gone that other route....because I do still think being a Vet was my true calling in life.70' Chevelle RagTop
