sorry....but no. I know LOTS of people I work with that are finishing or just starting an Associates degree nursing program through El Centro. In fact, there are 4 ADN programs (well technically 3)... El Centro, North Lake (split off of El Centro), Brookhaven, and TCC. Lots of LTACs and some hospitals hiring ADNs including Parkland, BUMC, etc....
My best driend is at Parkland. There has been so much turnover from fear of a shut down, everyone there is being paid critical staffing pay
Glad i got my BS, but wish I would have joined the military instead.
working with and supporting police, fire, ems, natl guard, etc i find myself quite frequently wishing i could gear up and "go to work" with those guys instead of doing the comm stuff i do. I have actually spent some time recently looking into LEO.. i know it's an amusing thought..but im kinda serious.
I wouldn't change anything. Got accepted into a degree program and was supposed to start this semester but got deployed, so it's on hold for a year. Hopefully I can complete it in 3 years, take the MCAT (davbrucas if you have any advice I would love to hear it) and apply to USUHS for med school. If any of that falls through then I will go to PA school.
I wouldn't bother with Geology unless you plan on getting your masters in it. If you can get some experience and get on with a small independent oil company where you get small percentages of each well you do geologist can make some serious bank.
take the MCAT (davbrucas if you have any advice I would love to hear it).
That fool scored a 33!

I want to like Slow99 since people I know say he's a good guy, but just about everything he posts is condescending and passive aggressive.
Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?
You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.
Levi.. I may soon take you up on that offer. If you want some advice about nursing, let me know. Nursing school is very competitive now a days and there may be some easier ways to get in. Also, many hospitals are now pushing to get your BSN so they can get Magnet status. With that being said, many will still hire you with an ADN but you must start your BSN coursework within 6 months or whatever. The BSN coursework is bullshit and I can honestly say I didnt learn anything.
she would be more than happy to talk to you bro and point you in a direction. she can fill you in on what to expect and what direction you might want to take.
May God give us strength and courage in the time of our darkest hours.

I'm going to be 30 this year and I still don't know. I do know I'm not going to keep my current job for too long, I dislike the lifestyle. Money is great and all, but as long as my bills are paid and ive got a little play money I'm good, so I can do pretty much anything. I might find a farm to work on during days off to see what that's like.
Burger King
Ran A Video Store
Domino's Pizza
12.5 Years Air Force - Logistics and Transportation
Ran A Large Chain Of Car Washes (GREAT Business Experience)
Data Import/Export Work In Insurance - GREAT Experience In Insurance
Procurement Executive In Oil & Gas Industry
Fleet Manager (Current)
I also hold a BS in IT and a MS in Information Systems. As you can see, I have not used them at all.
If I could go back and do it again, I would have stayed in school, finished my BS degree, applied to Law School, and became a Criminal defense Lawyer.
My wife says that it is not to late for me to do, but at 40, with a small family, I can't afford to not work, and I would not want to do a 4 year law school program.
The gravy-train of high paying nurses, doctors, and NPs is about to come to an end in the next ten years. Same with lawyers. I forgot the statistics of how many lawyers there are vs the number in law school, but the number is outrageous.
They will get "paid" , sure, but you arnt going to be seeing any bullshit 75k + bilingual signing bonus any more straight out of a 3-year nursing school.
Wouldn't change a thing, ive had good jobs and shitty jobs. The Good ones helped me learn new skills I took to other jobs, and the Shitty ones reminded me how much I like the Good ones and what to avoid in the future. Ive changed job types almost every 2-3 years on a regular basis when I was younger, but its helping me narrow down what I like doing.
Probably would've enlisted as an MP and become a civilian cop. That way I get all the free guns, drugs and sex from chicks getting out of tickets that I want.
