  • H-E-B coming to FW!

Everyone I know that are originally from, or that attended college in S.A., Austin or Waco are all pretty pumped.

According to the F.W.S.T. they've purchased land off of Bailey Boswell, as well as land on North Tarrant Pkwy. This will be the final nail in the coffin for one of the Albertson's in N. FW., and will take some business from Kroger, as well.

HEB is easily the best grocer. From employees to produce they are way ahead of the competition

I would agree. HEB has stated they have no intentions of bringing the HEB grocery concept any further into dfw, but they would be building a few new Central Markets in the next few years. This was a year or so ago, so who knows.

Absolutely. We'll hit it up together. I'll teach you about the "combo loco[s]"

Yes, there is one in Burleson, FAR from us up north. According to Mapquest, it's approximately "40 mins / 31.07 miles."

I seriously doubt it. There is a Central Market in Southlake, and I sincerely doubt C.M. would do so well in Saginaw/FW right now. The N.T.P. location is much more likely, but I doubt it.

H-E-B has pretty much the worst employees of any major grocer. Yes, worse than WalMart. This is from growing up in Austin and frequenting several locations and stopping in Waco on my way down frequently. Central Market is the complete opposite.

They had a territory agreement with Brookshire's, but Brookshire's opened a Fresh south of Waco. All bets are off, now, from what I understand.

This was from a couple of weeks ago...

Even with high demand, the company sent NBC 5 a statement saying they "don't have any current plans to open additional stores in DFW at this time."

While customers wait for possible expansion, HEB's potential competitors say they're ready.

HEB's other brand, "Central Market," has about a dozen stores in the area. The company says they are focusing on growing and expanding that brand as well.

Nice... Their rubs are pretty damm good right off the self. I have been having a friend of mine bringing it up from the Burleson now I can go get their seafood one on my own. I always add to theirs, but to start their base is very very good.

Back in the day it was an agreement between Brookshires, Minyards, and HEB. When we dropped a Sack N Save in Waco they were pissed. They did all sorts of crazy stuff. They actually would under cut our adds cheaper then we could buy the stuff. Turned a buggy full of groceries over in the parking lot one time and started screaming how the same buggy would cost you 50.00 less. It is a shame the offspring that took over Minyards after Buddy died just let it go and stopped growing the chain. I got out right before they started the down hill slide.

Even when I lived in DeSoto I drove to shop at HEB in Hachie. Now that we live down here it is even better. I like Brookshires also but the store in Red Oak is just not as good as the HEB in Hachie.

Thank you. We were talking about this at work the other day but I couldn't remember who the contract was with. For some reason I was thinking it was with Safeway, but that didn't seem right.

My company does almost the same volume in that HEB that it does in the Supercenter down the street from it.
