Long story short, we have a 17 year old girl in the ER last night. Her 18 year old boyfriend has a great idea of calling his meth dealer to come up, act like the uncle and try and get the girl out of the ER against medical advice.

We call the cops, the meth dealer takes off and the police talk to the boyfriend (who lies to the police claiming the meth dealer was the uncle), the girl says she has no idea who the guy really is.

Police take the info and say they will do something about it. About 3am Im leaving work, I find one of the cops asleep in his car in the parking lot. I was going to ask him for any updates, but when I saw he was asleep, I just walked to the truck. The sound of the truck wakes him up and I drive up and roll down the window and ask. He said "well, couldnt find anything...oh well".

I was pissed they werent even going to try and go after the boyfriend (who lives with his parents and is in high school) for lying to the cops, calling a drug dealer to come bail them out, etc...nope. Just let them all go

there was a lot of bark when the officers were in the ER. They said they will be paying a visit to both parties, arresting the dealer if they find him, bringing in the kid for questioning, etc... then no bite

They were probably trying to scare the bf/gf into being more responsible.

she was picked up by EMS. Found unresponsive in a store bathroom. ETOH of 290 (she weighed maybe 100lbs) and + THC

Okay...as long as she doesnt have an emergent medical condition and it is only ETOH, then she can be discharged with a responsible adult...I wouldnt have sent her home with either of those men. I would have just had them bring in one of her girlfriends to take her home.

She was suicidal but was cleared by psych. The whole situation was very weird. We usually wont release a minor without a parent or legal guardian.

No crime committed, means nothing they can do. Of course there was loud barking by the LEOs in the ER. They are police officers, hear them roar!

By the time psych showed up, her BAC came down to 200ish. She was coherent and seemed to be ok. After talking with her, he didnt find her in immediate danger. He recommended follow up outpatient psych. She said she already sees someone for her psych issues.
