Part of this guy's job as a parent is to teach his kid what is and isn't appropriate. Maybe he feels that wearing a dress is ok, but the rest of society probably won't. And his job as a parent is to raise a productive member of that society. Not some freak who runs around in women's clothing.

I have a 5-y/o son as well and he would love to wear last Halloween's Spiderman costume to school. As his Dad, I tell him "no" and send him back upstairs to put regular clothes on. It's just part of the parenting gig.

By this definition, a person who grows up to be a professional athlete is outside of the bell curve, therefore outside of the norm. Oh noes, a professional athlete! P.S. I think that most of the lashing out is from shame. People put themselves in the shoes of the father and would be ashamed to have a son like that, and they don't want to be shamed by a son that they had such vision and imagined such a bright future for, all because he's violating one of our "societal norms." They don't want to be burdened by the humiliation they would feel, the pressures that come along with it, and the shame of being the father of the boy who wears skirts.

Anywho, I'm not saying I would want my kid to wear a dress or skirt, but if it's something that didn't go away... I think there's more harm in talking to a kid like some "real men" on here would or roughing him up to make him "tougher", versus letting him do wtf he wants. Again, that's if the fad/phase didn't go away.
