  • Responsibilities of a realtor?

Ok maybe it's the fact this is the first time I've listed my home with a realtor. Aren't they supposed to do things to sell your home? If my realtor sells my home she will make 7500 roughly. Other then taking pics of it a month ago, listing it on the mls and sticking a sign in the yard she has done nothing. Not even picked the phone up to call us about our house. In constantly texting or calling her to find out any updates on our property and she is so hard to get hold of.

Is this how realtors are these days??

    No. Your realtor sucks.

Ok thanks for confirming. What are some things I can request for her to do to help sell our home?

Your best bet is to contact Real estate nate on here. He has done a deal or two...

hell no.... Mind if I ask what agency you're using?

The short answer is no, your agent shouldn't be hard to get a hold of. I'm sure there's a lot of variables into selling a home quickly if that's your concern but getting a hold of your realtor or regular updates shouldn't be a issue. I'm not an agent...the wife is and she's constantly talking with her customers. She's even had one case where she was helping the sellers (not her customers) because their agent was the same way...stuck a sign in the yard and then POOF! They never heard from their agent again.

Are they supposed to do things to help sell? Yes. Unfortunately, many don't. In my experience, most realtors are fucking lazy. Period.

            I'd call Nate.

Why did you use some random Realtor, a woman no less, when we have the best Realtor in the State right here on the board?

You need to fire your current (and delist it from the MLS) and find a good realtor. They should be helping you stage, getting you feedback from showings, etc.

I would call whatever broker she works under, and tear her shit up. Time is money when it comes to houses. Mine sold in 6 weeks for $2k under my asking price, and we couldn't have been happier. Our agent (also a good friend) busted his ass to get us all the exposure possible.

I'd love to but we are in a contract with her. Friend of a friend of the wife's is hey we went with her, ugh what a mistake.

I'd follow Randy's advice. And if it doesn't sell by the time the contract is up, call Nate rather than renewing. I, too, got fucked by a friend of the family type deal when I was buying. I'll never make that mistake again.

Here is what irritates me most. Yesterday a realtor showed it twice, the couple came back to look again so they were definitely interested.

Showings.com texted me for approval to show it to which I always quickly approve. So two hours after the second showing I text my realtor and ask if she has touched base with that realtor. 3 HOURS later she replies no. Wtf??? I then ask if she botany feedback this morning from that realtor and she says, " they liked it, but are looking at a couple others too." The fuck?? That's where I think a realtor should be on the phone with that agent finding the buyers hot buttons, wants and working the deal. Am I right???

We went and looked at 7 houses before we decided we liked the first one.
