Im with ya, homechicken. The Taurus doesn't do it for me and I also don't need an explorer (SUV or CO), now I did buy my wife a 12 Fusion and I should have waited. The new Fusion has 4 availible mills and the re-design looks great.
    2.5l Duratec 16v 4 cyl. @ 170hp -22/34 mpg (avg.26)
    1.6l Ecoboost 4 cyl. @ 178hp - 23/36 mpg (avg.28)
    2.0l Ecoboost 4 cyl. @ 270hp - 22/33 mpg (avg. 26) same as 2.5l but another 100HP
Hybrid no specs yet, should be the same as '12

People bitch about quality, ford improves quality. Unfortunately with better quality comes higher pricing. Now people bitch about pricing.

yep, go price any new car espically an suv and you will see 40k+ is pretty much the norm

People used to say they would NEVER pay 30k+ for a Mustang

They are over-priced if they can sell you a new truck/suv for thousands off msrp and still make a profit.

My wife has been wanting/looking at new suv's for the last couple months. My litmus test for her is that it can't cost more than my King Ranch 4x4. She has yet been able to find something for under 36k lol.

That's a bad bitch, inside and out. I'd change the wheels. Some of you are way picky. Curious as to what new SUVs you do like.

Has nothing to do with high prices as a whole, it's that specific vehicle. It's a nice SUV compared to the competition but the Explorer has the shittiest resale value ever. That's why I specified Explorer. Buy one a couple years old and let someone else eat the thousands upon thousands of lost equity.

Ford is proud of the exploder these days... I looked at a base exploder, looked like something you would get at a rental car place bare as it got.. I think the sticker was close to 30,000.

I was looking at exploders and the ford flex... both are nice vehicles. Im trying to talk the wife into ditching her 2012 altima. Hate that car besides the MPG

Its simple. Cars are too complex, IMO. Of course if the quantity and quality of all of the bullshit involved with producing a car go up, the price will rise accordingly. I just don't need or want a car that wipes my ass for me.

What about one that blows cold air on your balls. That shit is awesome on hot days.

You're in the minority now. Most people want directions spoken to them, everywhere they go. They want A/C blowing on their sacks and cracks. They like the idea of a cooler for their drinks in their car. Park assist, rear view cameras, etc. Most people today would probably shit themselves if they had to drive a stick. It's a sissy's world and every industry will cater to it at a price.

I valet cars, and I think all those options are nice to have. Parking sensors are a must , since most average drivers cant even reverse park.

I'm well aware. It's absurd to have that much bullshit that will go wrong. These cars produced now won't be on the road 25 years from now.

If people can't park, they probably shouldn't drive.
