Had this back on the old site. I bought a 1969 Boss 302 Mustang during the spring of '76. Paid $1250 for it from an old guy in Garland whose son had gone into the navy a year earlier. He was tired of it leaking oil and antifreeze in his garage. It had 77k on it (a lot for a "muscle car"), and I barely got it home. It needed a radiator, heater core, all new gaskets, a carb, and assorted other parts. I remember throwing away the factory rev limiter. Dad and I spent about a month of evenings getting it ready. I got my license in June (when I turned 16) and promptly went "head hunting". Bitch ran hard for back then.
1951 Pontiac 4 door sedan, straight 8 and a Hydro 2 speed, in 1978. Also the car I learned how to work on cars on, and to develop a good working relationship with the parts houses on. It lasted a couple of years after dragging it out of the field, and it died running down the track at Kennedale.
