  • Tow truck guys in here...

Bought a car at the Pro Tow impound auction on 7/24. Paid Lonestar auctions on 7.25. Picked up the car on 7/26. Today is 8/23. NO effing paperwork in my hands.Said they mailed in this past monday..I need to get this thing flipped...
Is there any law's regarding time periods on this paperwork ? I know that individuals have a 10 day limit on transfers, but is there something different for impound yards?

All pro tow gives is a auction sale receipt, right? Isn't that something they should have given you when you picked up the car?

That's the USUAL procedure. Won't buy there again. Just trying to see what kind of "leverage" I have before I raise hell...

Police impounds are open season since they hold no liability for the contents of the car. I worked for a tow lot during the weekends while I was enlisted and drivers would race to the scene when we got a police call in. First one there got the tow and first pickings.

Humm, THis one had the radio removed...Wonder where that went...
I've done these deals tons of times, this is the first problem I have ever had. Usually its a piece of cake and paperwork is easy to deal with

I was looking on lonestar after I read your post and noticed Pro Tow are the only ones that dont have titles. So they don't want to spend what ever it costs to get a title for them and instead pass the grief on to you.

I bought a Mitsubishi Eclipse...Anyone can buy, you have to register. The 2 local sites are :

Lonestar makes you pay at THEIR office in Ft. Worth...
Rene Bates, you have to put up a deposit for a bidder ID.. They're in McKinney.
Neither take paypal. Lonestar still does the Dallas impound auction, you pay there on site for that one (and get your paperwork). Dallas does a few hundred every monday morning at 10am...

I have the receipt for the payment to Lonestar auctioneers. Pro tow is supposed to provide the Auction sales receipt signed off by Lewisville PD. You can take that and get the Blue title. With the receipt I have , I could get a bonded title, that would cost another 1%...
FAT ASSES is right, what a bunch of heifers.. There is one in particular...Maybe I can find her on Facebook...hummm,
