I'm not sure how GATS works but at other industry trade shows I go to (ie. Offshore Technology Conference, Permian Basin Intl. Oil Show, etc) there really aren't any recruiters, HR, etc. We take people from marketing, sales, higher level engineering and upper management.
I won't lie, I've had people give me resumes at trade shows, and after 2-4 days talking to hundreds of people stuff gets lost.
If you go make sure to get a barcoded badge and have your info tied to it. All vendors should have a scanner. Have them scan your badge and make a note of what you're looking for. That's about the only way to ensure followup... resumes and hand written notes won't survive the chaos of a tradeshow.

It's a trade show. Companies are showing off.

It's not a recruiting session or job fair.

This should give you an idea. The show has a little bit of everything, custom show trucks, manufactures midway with new trucks and industry partners. Most major carriers will have booths set up for driver recruitment, but that's just a small part of what the show has to offer.

They used to be free as long as you pre-registered online. And then you could put in your "company" and you got a fancy nametag.

My favorite past time was to collect as much logo shit and giveaway trinkets I could. My desk used to be littered with them.

One year our company got a charter bus and shuttled us down and back. The next day about half the staff had the same light-up bouncy balls. Those things were flying around the office for months.

Seems this year they want you to go to hall F to register. I've always registered at the show and all times it was a fast process, and yes free admission is good.

The Associates / CitiCapital / GE Commercial Finance - All in Transportation Finance.

We did retail equipment finance for Owner Operators and Fleets and also Wholesale / Inventory finance for Truck Dealerships.

Started with The Associates in 1999, who was bought by Citi in 2001, who sold the Transportation Finance business to GE in 2005.

                              Laid off in 2009.

I saw this in the FAQ and thought wtf? In ALL the city limits? That just seems like a slap in the face of anyone that travels and lives in an RV and thought they would drop into Dallas for a show and spend some dough.

Q: Can I park my RV or Camper in the Truck Parking Lot next to the Dallas Convention Center?
A: The City of Dallas does not allow RV/Camper parking within the city limits. If you are planning on bring your RV, check out the Dallas Metro KOA Campground at www.koa.com. This campsite is approximately 25 miles away from the Dallas Convention Center. For more information, you can email them at dallasmetro@koa.org or give them a call at 817-277-6600.
