My company does randoms about 2 times a year. Around 150 employees get picked each time. I have been "randomly selected" 5 times in a row now. So, 5 pee tests since September of 2010. However this last test, they tested every single employee in the company. (Something like 400 people) Seems a little overboard, but its their money...not mine.sigpic

Yes, and No. I guess it depends on which way you want to interpret "random." Random as in, they "randomly" select the employees. Or "randomly" as in, SURPRISE!!!!...Its 2:15 on a Tuesday and they are drug testing.
But this last time, was the first time, I've seen them screen everyone. They went as far as locking all bathroom facilities, and building exits as well.
And the funny thing is, as far as everyone knows...not a single person was let go.sigpic

There are some smaller service companies out here that give a 30 day notice for their random drug test. I even had one friend who was hired by a company and they asked him how long he needed till he could pass a drug test. That is just how it works when the unemployment rate here is the lowest in the state, but you still have to keep your insurance company happy.

I worked for a company for 31 years that gave this hair test. it checks for 90 days.

On average, 85% of the drug users identified by Psychemedics would have been missed by urinalysis. This is due not only to our much longer detection window of approximately 3 months, but also to our unique proprietary technology.Don't worry about what you can't change.
Do the best you can with what you have.
Be honest, even if it hurts.
