You missed my point. One less intoxicated driver is a resounding success, one step at a time. That one person who gets punished is not being held accountable for anyone's mistake but their own; the many who get away with it are no excuse for any one individual's stupidity and selfishness when they know the law and choose to ignore it.

I have a hard time saying anything is a resounding success when there are people out there driving with three, four, sometimes five or more DWIs.

The system that is in place right now is just a DWI tax. No different than the speeding program to harvest money from motorists.

One less intoxicated driver is the resounding success, not necessarily the apparatus behind making that so.

The only way to curb drunk driving is to put a breathalyzer on EVERY car, like a fucking seatbelt. I disagree with all the people who want to punish so harshly the ones that get caught. For every one that gets stopped and blows over the limit, there are 200 that make it home. Drunk driving is a real problem, stiffer penalties have not and will not work. What about those distracted drivers? They kill more people than the drunks, but we're not sticking them with a fine, taking their license away, and throwing them in jail. This seems to me a classic example of pissing on a forest fire.

I've always thought that if there were some sort of public transportation at and after 2am, drunk driving would go down drastically! People that are driving after drinking AREN'T paying 50+ dollars for a cab! But oh well, I'll piss on that forest fire too!

They will spend $50 for a bar tab, but not $50 to get home, that's what so retarded....

This has nothing to do with DWI fatalities. The Vehicular Homicide law still applies.
