Don't worry about what you can't change.
Do the best you can with what you have.
Be honest, even if it hurts.

"Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy; Its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery" ... Winston Churchill

Get him a small truck. Reliable, cheap, plentiful, easy to work on, haul shit, etc.

      Example (mine):
Putting warheads on foreheads since 2004

I agree with the S10 as well. A 2 door truck is also beneficial in the fact that he won't be able to cram 7 of his shithead friends in it to go cause trouble.

Like^ or you could do like OCII and get an rcsb chev/gmc, they can be found for super cheap and he doesn't need to feel bad crashing a classic.

I can't go in enough detail about how much of a PITA a classic is to drive. "oh it's humid and now my points don't work" "vapor lock, fuuuuuuckkkkk" "is that rain? Damnit my feet are gonna get soaked" "there is no free parking but what is close" "oh look, snow".

I drove mine daily for years, never had any of those issues. My issues were a result of beating on it too much, or rookie mechanical mistakes, on my part.

After driving my car for about 10 years as a daily, I'll dd a modern car in a heartbeat.

I've had 2 C4's shit themselves from good ole 3rd gear flare up. Hail? Forget about it.

lol yes! I have never been so in tune with the weather when I drove mine. I knew if it would rain that my car would not start.

This is my case now.. beating on it and errors on my part.

I also favor the single cab truck idea, my parents were very smart on doing that for me.

That's what my parents thought about my 92 4 cyl. coupe. Most I ever fit was 9, got pulled over with 7!
