I also like how the story states... "a green muscle car" was also involved. It looks like a late model Charger. If that is the case. I guess every Charger including cop cars will now be labeled muscle cars in future news stories like this.

A deadly accident that will most likely close a major Dallas freeway for the rest of the morning may have been caused by a drunken driver.
Captain Mark Howard with the Dallas County Sheriff's Office says seven vehicles, including an 18-wheeler, all collided around 5 a.m. on southbound I-35E between Illinois and Saner Avenues.
Witnesses tell FOX 4 that two vehicles were racing at speeds up to 100 mph just before the chain-reaction crash. Investigators have yet to confirm exactly what happened.
One car, a blue Chevy, was cut in half and caught fire when it slid under the 18-wheeler.
That collision caused a chain-reaction crash involving a red Cadillac, a silver Mustang, a green muscle car, an SUV and a pickup truck.
The victims who died were in the red Cadillac, and they were killed when the vehicle struck the freeway's retaining wall, investigators tell FOX 4.
One person was arrested for intoxication manslaughter on the scene. The passenger in that car was also arrested for an outstanding felony warrant.
All southbound lanes remained closed at Illinois Avenue and most likely remain closed throughout rush hour, Capt. Howard said.
Traffic on southbound I-35E was backed up for miles, and some impatient drivers -- including at least one DART bus -- were exiting the wrong way on a freeway on-ramp at Clarendon Drive until police posted a car at that ramp.

Almost 7 hours after the wreck and the news still can not or will not say which two cars were racing????? With as many cars involved, it should not have been that hard to figure out the cars racing.Comment

5 am racing, dam, I also can't see how someone didn't get killed in the chevelle, it crashed under the 18wheeler and burned and was cut in half.Don't worry about what you can't change.

I hope they check the vin on the chevelle
it has recently been painted and it looks like it was a SS with white stripes under the cheap paint job. You can see where the fire peeled the paint up on the trunk and the paint under it looks new. Looks to have dealer plates on it too.Don't worry about what you can't change.
