I tend to as well. This guy would have been charged if the video hadn't been available. The cop lied and he's also in trouble for a drug issue as well. What do these fuckers have to do to be fired? I still believe that MOST cops are Honest and have an extremely difficult job.
But one bad cop is too many - and there are enough bad ones out there that this shit happens......
A few years ago I got pulled over in Ovilla(S. of Desoto) and the cop made up a speeding ticket. Everything on it was BS - date, time, speed, etc.... the whole thing. I never did figure out why the cop bs's the whole thing.
I took the ticket to trial and the Cop testified that everything happened as the ticket said.
Except I was able to prove two things: First the officer was not working at the time/date that was on the ticket...... Second I was not anywhere near Ovilla at the time and date that was on the ticket.
(for those that need more detail - ticket was for 70mph in a 30. Ticket occured on a Saturday morning around 8am.... Ticket had Friday's date on it and time was 11pm.....If it was just the date wrong I'd accept it as a mistake. But the time wrong and AM PM wrong, not a mistake).
The ticket was dismissed - But several years later I'm still pissed as hell that the officer made the shit up and then lied on stand about it. And I have no idea what the cops motivation was for it - I've never had any other interactions with the officer. It appeared to just be random.
