Had a friend ebay off a Pioneer SX1980 receiver and a guy out of Oklahoma bought it for $2000.00.

    270 watts per channel. Wow.

The older style tube setups command a premium. My current system uses an older Marantz tuner/amp that I've had since the 70's. Sounds much warmer than the new digital stuff. I've seen similar units sell for 3 and 4 times what I paid for it new back in the day.

I paid handsomely for a 1970 Panasonic record player with a hideaway turn table and original speakers last year. Got it from the brother of a girl who got it for high school graduation. He had all kinds of badass vintage audio equipment and tiki stuff all over his house. Some of more rare stuff is worth some major coin.

I purchased an old Sansui receiver/amp unit at a garage sale in 1990 for $5, I sold it to my brother-in-law the next year for $100. I just shit myself when I see what they are going for now.

LOL, I'm watching one of those on ebay right now. Same boom box Silent Bob uses in the View Askew movies. I've already got an old one though, so I'm not sure if I'm willing to fork out that much cash for another.

I picked up an old Marantz receiver at a flea market a few years ago for 20 bucks and ended up selling it on Ebay for almost $700 bucks.

Holy cow. I have an old Sherwood, been using in the shop for 25 years... Maybe I should clean it off and sell it...and buy a motor

I've got an old marantz 2230 as part of my garage setup. I paid $100 bucks about 5yrs. ago, I could probably get double that today.

My parents bought this way back, and I've been using it for background noise for my dog while I'm at work for the last 11 years. (not mine pictured, mine is dirty. lol) Actually been thinking about taking it apart and polishing it up for a couple of weeks. It was in my garage at my house for awhile.

They don't. Some dip shit deaf dude wanted the same amp he lost his virginity to and over paid.

You can get a nice 5 year old Krell/Classe/Mac amp for 1500-2 grand. I got my dad a THX 5x125 Mac that looks new for 1400 bucks last Christmas. Lol at spending 2 grand on an amp that doesn't even sound good.

Thats not a bad box, but it is NOT one of the Holy Grail boxes that fetch big bucks. If yours cleans up and looks like that one...I'd say you could prolly get a couple hundred for it. I've picked up a few boxes at garage sales, flea markets, thrift stores, etc that in some cases netted me a 500% profit.

Oh I know. I just dig it because my family are the original owners and it still works great. 30 years later. With almost daily use.
