I freaking love that! I have my logo in several different file formats. I've got one on a cream colored background as well. I went professional with it. It was done by a graphic artist who works for the loomis (sp?) ad agency in Dallas

Black, I emailed the mockup earlier but figured I'd post it here so people can see what a decent free website looks like

The main content area isn't in the mockup, and the whole boutique look could be expanded upon greatly but this is an hour mockup and not a 7 day process/redraw/redraw/redraw deal.

Back up with this. I've gotten a wild hair and am working on some holiday cake bites for sale. Looking for some input on facebook/twitter marketing. What methods are you guys using to get the best results? I've got a "holiday" themed photo shoot in the morning so I have some top quality pictures for my website/facebook, and other marketing.

Also, does anyone have experience with local "coupon" websites. We have one specifically for hunt county, and I am thinking I can sponsor the front page for Nov/Dec pretty cheaply and offer a $1 coupon to help drive business in

I'm not going to go out of my way to try a new business to save a dollar. Maybe that's just me.

It may not seem like much, But my margin is VERY small and they only sell for $5 on a box of 6, which is WHORING them out. Ideally I would be at $8 but they don't move for that in my area. If you look online at people who distribute them that way, they get $20-25/dozen IIRC.

I'm not completely new. I did several festivals last year while I still had a commercial kitchen to use and could participate in those events. Had a lot of air time on the radio, worked with a couple of flower shops and have a few big name clients in town.

That's the exact opposite of what used to be my business plan. Low volume, high margin. One cake at $500 vs five cakes at $100 just sounds so much better to me. 😃

Good luck man, that sounds like a ton of work.

Figured I would pop in with some updates on this. I'm hoping to use some Holiday buzz around my 5 flavors of cake bites to get things rolling into 2013. French vanilla, triple chocolate, peppermint, mint chocolate, and pumpkin. The pumpkin has been a pretty big hit. I've been working with chocolate a bit with dipping these cake bites and ordered some truffle molds to see how those turn out. Hoping that broadening my product base will open up other potential business. I had to reschedule the photo shoot to this past Saturday, and hopefully I will have those proofs tomorrow or Thursday at the latest.

As for the social media, I've been blasting Facebook, trying to increase exposure there, I finally after almost 2 years managed to break the 300 likes mark. I feel that once I get the pictures back and have some quality images to spread, things will pick up. I notice that when I post pictures, response doubles if not triples from text based updates.

Finally, I've been continuing to work with MustangPoser on getting the new web template completed. I have no doubt that the updated clean style is going to do wonders for my web traffic.

I got a couple of sample proofs today. Plenty more to come. I'm going to schedule another session for early January and have 2-3 wedding cakes photographed for promo shots to help drive wedding season business.

                            Holiday platter

I plan to push these for Christmas gifts

I had her take some pictures of the truffles I've been working with, seeing how those turn out.

Is there an updated link to your site? The one I find still has errors ("desert", capitilzation inconsistencies, etc).
