  • Why not make them a different shape? Separate yourself...

    Maybe a cube? Cakubes.com, sweetsquares.uk, cubicakes.com, cakeblocks.butt

Or a sushi roll type thing with layered flavors? Bitches love sushi.

    Or a pyramid? Cakamid.com

Or do several shapes, and call it cakeshapes.com. This way people can play with their food and its cool

      • Cake shapes is a great idea! Shouldn't be hard to do, just get some cookie cutters, spread the cake ball mixture on a sheet and cut that shit out, dip in chocolate, Profit.

No way he is smart enough to have trademarked it yet. Same thing happened with the Red Hot Chili Peppers trying to sue Showtime over Californication!

          • The reason mine are called cake bites instead of balls is because I don't want to take the time to roll them. They get scooped, par frozen, dipped, and packaged. Various shapes is definitely out of the question, atleast until I find my own population of oompa loompas.

cptreats is another one I have considred

                  • As of right now I plan to go with www.cptreats.com

Of course, this is contingent on getting the website finished up. The site is still not fully functional. It only has the basic site loaded that was showcased earlier in the thread. HOPEFULLY I can either get it finished up, or get a template so that I can start building the pages and get it going before I start really pushing the Holiday sweets on facebook and local radio.

                    • I guess I need to go through this again. Looking for a reasonably priced web designer

                      • I didn't finish before posting. I love the layout posted earlier in the thread, however it has been a little over a year and I don't have a functioning site yet. I am very grateful for the offer to help. However, anothr holiday season without a working site will kill my business. I do the majority of my marketing this time of year. I can easily get free radio on the local morning program but it won't do any good if I don't have a website to direct them to for information and pricing.

                        • Ok, I need some advice. I have made numerous attempts to get the previously posted site design completed. It has been over a year. In the last couple of weeks I have made numerous attempts to contact the designer. Phone, text, and email. No responses. I want to keep the design, its great, suits the business, and if I don't need a complete site redesign it will save a large sum of money.

What would you guys do? I would hate to run with the design only to end up in an intellectual property dispute down the road.

                          • When you payed him for the original design, did your terms state you owned the design? I don't get how you'd be in an IP dispute if you payed for the design?

It was a pro bono deal. He was doing it to help me out (pg 2 of the thread IIRC)

                              • Russel... Just email him and ask if he even cares if you go with another designer. Honestly if they down have time, they probably wont mind you go elsewhere.
