If I am a cop trying to serve a warrant I am going to want the door open completely so I can cover myself. Pushing on the door and kicking it in to search the entire apartment are two totally different things. Do you think if they really wanted entry into this apt the only thing keeping it from it was asphaltjunkie holding it? Funny thing is it sounds like they got the info they needed and left without much problem at all. Sounds to me like you had it very easy compared to most.

I don't see how they have the right to attempt to enter someones home on the basis of "We need to talk to X", in fact it's total bullshit IMO.

drawing your weapon on a police officer is dumb. they stated why they were there. sure you can close the door in their face and its going to piss them off. because its not a felony warrant they will just come back another day. but why do all of that? the op obviously had some idea that they were indeed there for the correct person. i would have kept my hand on the door and requested they leave it open as well. he can always say he does not wish for them to come inside but from an officer safety standpoint i would want the door open. and trying their damnedest to get in? i would think there would have been some sort of scuffle at the door then?
