I am open to suggestions on how to accomplish this legally. At this point I have pretty much tried everything. I tried being nice, I tried being mean, I tried threatening with court. I submitted complaints with the BBB and the Attorney General. I tried contacting the news, I tried the police. What the hell else can I do?

Awesome thing about owning your own business is that you can literally throw anyone out on their ass if you don't want them there.

I usually get myself and the nuisance in view of the camera and give three clear requests to leave the store that can be heard on the microphone. If they don't listen, then I forcibly remove them.

I'll let them call the cops, which are usually customers of mine. When they get there and see how much of a bitch the nuisance is, compare that to how I handle myself in a very calm manner, and watch the video, the nuisance usually tucks tail and apologizes.

I don't see how he can legally remove me during business hours, especially if I am not causing a disturbance.

I own my own business and i've had one customer make a big deal about a rental car. If he would have came in and was nice about it, I would have paid for the extra three days that the insurance company didn't pay for, especially since they are the ones that dragged their feet totaling his vehicle.
He came in and was nice but, he was nice in telling me that I had to pay for the extra days and that I owed him. I told him to go fuck himself to deal with the insurance co., he threw a tantrum I told him to leave my place of business, he said he was going to take something of value or out of my ass, I called the cops. Once he knew the cops were coming he left, I had all of his information, they went to his house and told him he better call to appologize because if I filed a complaint he was going to be charged with all kinds of shit. He called and appologized and he paid for the rental.

But he is calling that junky engine he gave me the "first engine that I paid for" and since I "returned it", he is saying that he gave me an engine, but it wasn't good enough, so he is indefinitely trying to locate a new one for me.

If you didn't take possession of it, he gave you nothing.

Exactly. There's no refund, you never received anything. If he had handed you a blown engine then you'd be fucked but you never received anything, thus, it doesn't apply. Go talk to an attorney.

You would think that it's that simple, but it damned sure isn't. There is nothing in the legal system that can make him give me my money back.

Haha dude, there is. You may need a professional lawyer, but you are in your rights to your money still. A good lawyer would get it in about 30 minutes.

There is nothing to do a "no cash refund" with, since he NEVER gave you what you paid for! That's what everyone is trying to tell you. He sold you item # X and gave you item # Go Fuck Yourself. If it were a return/exchange, that's different and store credit whatever. But he hasn't given you anything except show you a jankity, stripped-down engine that you obviously didn't accept. Use Mustang Revival's idea, film it etc. and tell him you have all of the call records and he will be contacted by your Ambulance Chaser attorney that is paid only when he settles a claim... or he can give you the money/engine within 48 hours. That's your last options short of following him home and beating $1,000 worth of anger out of him.
