Best way to find out who owns a parcel of land?

  • Best way to find out who owns a parcel of land?

    I've tried the county tax assessors website, that shows the parcel tracts but it does not show the land owner. Is there another method to finding the owner? This is for Midland County fyi.

    Call the tax assessor, you can petition for the owners information - but most of the time they will just tell you.

            Thanks guys. Here is a map off their website. Not even sure the address of the parcels in middle. I need to know who owns the land north of 79 between 1119 and 1120.

              It runs super slow, but you can go on midcad.org and go to survey maps under links. Looks like that section between those roads is broken up into many parts. Just from clicking around it appears Jones Brothers owns that claliche pit. Looks like Pioneer Natural Resources has the broken up sections on 79 south of the pit.

              Once you are on the map zoom in then select identify and click on the piece you want to know the info on.

                  Thanks bud. Pioneer does own everything between 1119 and 1120 south of that 79 road and I'm trying to see If I can buy or lease anything just north of the 79 road up to that caliche pit. Thanks for the help.

                            Good deal thanks again. I'm trying to get as close to pioneer's new 15 million dollar project they are breaking ground on south of 79 in that entire block. They have told their employees they can drive their personal vehicle to the mancamp facility there IF they park within .5 mile of their facility. Problem is, pioneer will not allow parking and everything around is privately owned. I know of at least 30 guys willing to pay at least $50/month for parking ability so now it's just about finding the land owners and seeing if they will either sell or lease out a portion to allow parking on.

                              I do this shit fir a living and can't decide who owns what with out seeing the legal filed documents. If you are more concerned, I'll delve deeper but it will cost you copy expenses.
