So what would one expect to pay for one of these electric cars. I would not be into racing or anything.

Barry if you are thinking about one get electric, I will warn you it's not a cheap hobby, especially if you race.

My 1/8th scale buggy is easily twice the weight of a slash... PLus the bigger motors require more voltage due to the lower KV rating...
Now they will produce wheelie trq forever, but just can't spin as fast as a higher kv motor..

This on here is one of the best ones out there, but you need an iPhone or iPod Touch, or iPad to fly it..

I saw this thing in action at brookstine and it is fucking sweet! It's got two little cameras on it and you see what the helicopter sees on the iPhone. You control it by tilting the phone which ever way you want it to go and you can tap somewhere on the live feed image and the helo will turn and focus on it. I was very impressed with the stability and maneuverability.

I work at hobby town in arlington, any questions let me know!
I was given one of these for Christmas. Easy to control compared to others I've used.

Recommendation, LARGE parking lot .....

xl-5's have a low-voltage detection system which when turned on you can use lipo's. I'll be using a Lipo 2c but it should still be plenty for this thing

The electrics are clean and more reliable, and if you run LiPos, a pretty good chance it's faster than anything running on nitro. I've got a 2wd truck that I need to slow down, it will backflip with ease even with the speed controller set at half power and 10oz of lead in the front.
My electric boat runs pretty good too... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2EGxCrlP25k
What kind of boat is that?
