The really fucked up part of that deal was they wanted me to sign an electronic signature on his electronic ticketbook! I rolled my eyes over to the more level headed super who then started laughing.

I don't know why they ask you questions when they can get the answer from their computer. Last time I was stopped, the cop asked me if I had any tickets or arrests. I told him to check his computer.

I'm sure that this has been mentioned, but it's not like it's a city specific law. It's at least state-wide. How would they feel if they got hit by somebody with no insurance having to go through the courts, spending money on a lawyer to sue the person for property damage and medical bills?

It's like telling a thief why stealing is wrong.

Hmmm, thats gunna get you far! It was the Officer seeing how forthcoming and honest you are. Believe it or not, honesty and good additude gets you far in violator contacts. At least with me it does.

Straight forward, "Yes Officer, No Officer" responses. I know it sounds elementary and all...but treat people how you want to be treated and good things happen. Like not getting expensive tickets just because you were being a dick.
I tried that when I was younger. I was quickly corrected..."I'm a lieutenant!!!" Then was cuffed and arrested after his partner promised me I would get nothing but a ticket. Nowadays I just keep my mouth shut and expect a ticket.

not true. i can't see if the person has insurance on my computer...

i can ask dispatch but that doesn't always work half the time it says to verify manually.
