It's not a hack job. The lamp is a drop in 2-pin design like the original lamp. One charge generally lasts me all week and it has a warranty. My light needs to work whwn I need it so I don't mess around with hack job mods.
I wasn't calling it a hack job , I was referring to the electronically hacked / modded kits available for mag lights . They make a mag light what they should be and most are very impressive .

No worries! I've seen some vids of real hack jobs and I wouldn't dare try one of those.
Not sure why Maglite doesn't buy the Terralux lamps and sell it that way. For the rechargeable one anyway.
