I assume you are talking about this one...

DALLAS - Multiple shots were fired by a Dallas officer after a fleeing burglary suspect backed his vehicle into a car carrying undercover officers Monday morning, read a statement released by the Dallas Police Department.

Authorities said the incident began when a homeowner walked into his home as a burglary was under way at about 9:30 a.m. in the 11300 block of Amanda. The homeowner told police he hopped into his own vehicle and followed the suspect after he fled the home and took off in a Honda CRV.

While the homeowner lost sight of the Honda CRV, he was able to give police a description and the license plate number. The CRV was determined to be a stolen vehicle from a previous crime, police said.

A vehicle matching the description given to police was later spotted parked in a motel parking lot in the 12600 block of East Northwest Highway. Authorities said undercover officers watched the Honda CRV as the suspect eventually left the hotel and began to drive away.

Officers then attempted a high-risk stop, which was when suspect allegedly backed the CRV into the front of a vehicle occupied by the undercover officers. Uniform officers who were also at the scene then attempted to stop the suspect.

As the suspect continued his attempt to flee, one of the uniformed officers fired off several shots, which did not hit anyone, police said. No one was injured.

Authorities have not released whether the suspect was apprehended or not.

Dang...that's about 10 min east of my house. The appartments where the break-in happened aren't wonderful, but they aren't that bad. As for the hotel, it's not in a bad area either. I'm not saying I'd stay there, but it's not a slum by any means.

Amanda Ln is HORRIBLE. I moved in with a buddy back in '99 and it was shit then, could only imagine it got worse. The hotel was OK when it was Hampton, but I am sure that has gone to shit too.

My bad...you're 100% right. I was thinking of some places close to there. Yes, those places are the hood. I live just east of there near Walnut Hill and Skillman and I don't down that way very often. Some of that riff-raff sometimes spills over onto the disc-golf course at Walnut Hill and Plano.

I've seen a LOT of riff-raff around that area. Luckily, BB Owens is a boring course so I rarely play it (if I'm driving out that way, why not go to Audobahn). I've probably played there 3 times in the last 3 years.
