Does anybody know how long the recovery time is after a surgery like this? At my job I'm constantly lifting items 50+ pounds and I'm always on my feet.

My umbilical hernia took 4 days to get back on my feet but then again I kept busting stitches because I didn't want to stay down. Hurts like a bitch but worth it

I've had 3. If you can I would say take a few weeks off and don't do much lifting. You will feel fine after about a week but you can open in back up if you do too much too soon.

I'm no doctor but for an inguinal hernia repair you should be back to full duty in 6-8 weeks max. It's not uncommon for 3-4 weeks.

Big difference between being "on your feet", and lifting 50lbs. They will tell you not to lift anything heavier than your "johnson" for 4-6 weeks. I had a massive rupture many years ago, and I healed fast. I did NOT push it too hard because I didn't want a recurrence. I have a 6" square of mesh and it required 14 staples.

Shorty is correct, I had an inguinal hernia "Gilmores Groin" repair surgery, and in 6 weeks I was back to playing soccer with no restriction or pain. The first few weeks after surgery is a beast though.

Generally 3-4 weeks before going back to full duty.

I just had this surgery done last week. It's been a painful recovery for me. I'm moving around better but still feel some pain. I'm sure in a week or two I'll be back to normal.

Yes, I think what caused alot of my pain is because I went home to rest a couple days straight and never really walked around as I was told.
