  • Think it's time to ditch U-Verse! Recommendations?

I was one of the 1st to get Uverse when it was available in my area, prior to I had Dish Network with At&t Service. I think in the 2yrs or so I had Dish I only lost the signal twice during rough storms, since Uverse in 2010 I've lost it many times more than that.

This all started last Sunday, started losing TV & internet off & on. Then totally lost it. Called Uverse they set up an appt for Tuesday. Guy came out, changed the power supply on the gateway and said the lines were fine. Had service for maybe an hour then it went out again. Called Uverse back, they shipped me a new gateway. Installed it on Thursday, worked briefly then it went out again. Another tech came out friday, got another new gateway and he replaced all the coax lines, etc. Worked fine but then today just earlier it went off & on again.

So annoyed, been missing most of the Olympics this week and haven't been able to record anything. Plus, at $200 month for internet & tv I feel I can do alot better elsewhere. Considering Direct TV but I'm unsure of their internet packages...Fios isn't available out here and that was my next choice.

We had similar probs. Those Dick bags even had the ballz to send me a $60 for fixing their equipment. Needless to say we don't use them any longer. I don't watch enough tv to warrant the bill so we have netflix and a $20 antenna from radio shack. I fill in with streaming what I want by hdmi off the internet.

Our U-Verse will stick/freeze and skip to current time. So, I keep losing 2-5 seconds of what ever i'm watching everytime it does it. They have already been out once and said it was the cable outside. Before it would crash over and over. Now, I just keep missing bits of shows here and there. Annoying it is.

If you are running coax instead of cat5 that's is your first problem.
