I have a '97 Geo Prizm (Toyota Corolla) that just hit 160,000; I've put 20,000 on it since I bought it last August. It's a turd, but it's reliable and gets good mileage. I haven't had to do anything except change a belt, and I've changed the oil twice.Originally posted by BroncojohnnyHOORAY ME and FUCK YOU!

Getting 185,000 miles of a car is "doing you dirty"? All cars have parts wear out, no matter who makes.

Several months ago I ran across a guy with a 1999 Ford Expedition with the 4.6L and it had 300k plus on the clock.
I don't know how people that live in the lower income bracket abuse these vehicles and still get this kind of mileage out of them. There's no way this Expy was maintained by the looks of it.

I abuse my car and am at 125K. No major problems what so ever.

Have a 2000 Galant 4 banger that has 204k on everything except the engine. Shop did a timing belt change and replaced water pump, but the pump failed and froze the engine. They replaced it with an 03' with 30k on it when car was at 104k. Now it has 130k on motor, rest of car is 204k. Been maintaining it since day one. Drives smooth and the tranny shifts smooth as well.

Originally posted by CJ View PostI know how you feel. The very first import I ever bought was about a year ago, I bought my wife a Toyota Avalon. I did a water pump, timing belt, trans service, and pretty much all the usual maintenance up front. The only issue we've had is the EVAP canister throwing a code, but it's gone from 120k to 170k and it still drives great.
