I'm being told I cannot do something for no other reason than because someone doesn't agree with it. Am I intolerant of Christian beliefs if I want to buy on Sundays? Why?I wear a Fez. As you said elsewhere, states define marriage. They honor religious ceremonies in lieu of their own, but they issue the license.
If marriage had no legal implications, it would be a non issue. Agreed. But it does, so it begs that we evaluate those definitions from a legal point of view. Keep religion out of it. They don't have to perform ceremonies or validate marriages that oppose their beliefs.Men have become the tools of their tools.

Seems like they have more rights without all the BS.

Language is connotative, so we get caught up in the words. It happens here all the time where definitions get debated back and forth and the intent gets lost.Men have become the tools of their tools.

It's been observed in other animal species as well. If it serves no purpose, why wouldn't that gene been long removed before there were so many other species?Full time ninja editor.

See, you're a programmer so you think primarily in denotative ways.

There are weddings all the time for same sex partners. What they are looking for is for the same rights as a married couple in the eyes of the law. Im ok with that, and Im not sure what the big fuss is about, and have never gotten a good justifiable reasoning as to why that isnt legal. Sodomy is Illegal, so any sexual contact that isnt for reproduction is technically illegal. That's fine and dandy, except if this was truely an issue, condomns and birth control would be illegal also. Sorry for you criminals that cant reproduce!
I will say that Im tollerant of homosexuals. I choose to associate with people who tend to be most like myself, so that doesnt include g/l very often. In cases when I happen to be in a group setting and that does include a gay or lesbian person or couple, I evaluate if I would like to continue to associate with them, just as I do in any group."If I asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses." - Henry Ford
