Where is the option to abolish government licensed marriage?

I don't need a damn certificate! Gubment can kiss my ass.

The problem is they are marginalizing and discriminating against a certain group of folk by allowing others to form a "corporation".

Why can't the government just see us as individuals PERIOD?!?! That is the ONLY way for complete fairness.

Negative. There is a platform for change that doesn't have to go as far as they do.

Yea, come to downtown FTW on a Fri/Sat night and listen to the Kingdom Baptist Church people preach on the corners telling you that you are going to hell.

How "far" they are going is in direct relation to the idiocy of denying people the most basic of rights based on a 2000 year old game of telephone. The government is more interested in taking rights away than granting them, so I really can't blame them for being up in arms about wanting vindication for their lives. Comparing it to a church group is ridiculous. Church's are interested in insinuating themselves into people's lives and limiting them by telling them how it is acceptable to live. It's an apples to oranges comparison.

I'm for it as long as we get polygamy too. Afterall, if you're opening up the meaning of marriage to alteration, you have to be receptive to everyone's definition

Why not just get rid of government regulation of marriage? It's ridiculous.

The legal side is bullshit - they should have the same benefits as a traditional married couple. The amount of fraud in the system costs more than opening it up to gay/lesbian couples. Fix the fraud.

Those who have a religous objection to it, so be it - they have every right to object and vote against it. In the end, majority rules. However the fringe of both sides of the issue is doing more damage to their respective sides to the point that an impasse makes the entire discusssion futile.
Which is why it's failed every ballot initiative it's been put on. And then they go to the courts. And lose. And then they head to the federal government and demand unconstitutional laws and protections

I really don't care what any two or ten constenting adults want to do with each other.

Now that is exactly the point. Remove government. It's a religious ceremony, let it stay that way.

I don't like it, I don't wanna see it, and I wish homosexuality didn't even exist. Every man and woman is equal and they are no better or worse than I. I am a christian and a sin is a sin. I can tell you that if I had young kids and we were walking from our car into a mcdonald's or chick fil a and I saw 2 dudes sucking face I would probably lose it.

Well played, but incomparable. A 2 person union already exists.

I'd bet dollars to pesos you've jerked it to two women making out before.

I do not agree with it and do not think animals were designed for same sex. That is why it takes a male and a female to pro-create in the animal kingdom. Therefore i do not think it is natural.

However, if we as a country took a popular vote and 50% or more wanted gay marriage... it wouldn't affect my life. I just wish it would end one way or the other.

I feel like everyone can agree on that. Gays want to marry because it carries certain tax breaks, insurance coverage for partners, etc. It's bullshit because it grants rights that not everyone can have. Shit, I thought about having a sham wedding just so I can get federal grant aid.

My buddy is on dallas fire, and their insurance agency has a special deal with gays so that their partners get coverage as well. HOWEVER, if your girlfriend lives with you, she can't get coverage.

So basically only married couples and gays got their partners covered, and guys with live in girlfriends get boned.

TOTAL and COMPLETE abolishment of government regulation of marriage is THE ONLY solution.

If you accept any less, you are accepting more regulation on how your live your life. FUCK THAT SHIT.
