I have a customer who's thinking about selling me his car. It's a 2001-2002 mustang gt 5- speed , red with black leather . The car is fucking flawless and he fixes anything we tell him it needs . He's also 65 ish ( drives like it too ).the only downside is 170,000 miles . I'm looking for a work car that's fun and looks good and this fits the bill . What should I offer ?

5k is all I would pay for it. Someone from Longview had a 01 vert black on black with 130k. He was asking $4800 and the car was clean.
Sorry $4500 was what he had it for.Last edited by Droppedlime; 08-02-2012, 07:04 PM.

In my 95, i would take a ratchet strap and wrap it around the back of the seat and go through the back of the car seat, thus strapping it to the back of the seat then also put the seat belt through the loop also.. would ratchet it through the trunk and that fucker was solid as a rock and was not moving..

Don't take this as a knock in any way, but I wouldn't trust strapping my kids in to the seat back like that. Factory seat-belt at a minimum, latch system preferable. Anything less just isn't worth the risk IMO. If anything serious were to happen to one of them with something I jerry-rigged, I would be tortured for life from the guilt.

I'm not judging at all, just offering food for thought. The kids are far from sheltered, or living in a bubble. I just know it would kill me knowing that something so simple could have helped.

Having older cars has its disadvantages.. I just tried to come up with a way to better secure the car seat so that I cannot slide around and would stay solid to where it needed to be.. basically i made my own "latching system" like what comes in the newer cars.. my daughter is now in a booster seat so that problem no longer exists.. I had more then what was suppose to be there supporting the seat.
