  • Losing a pet

Well we had to put my good ol boy down. He was doing real bad with getting up and his arthritis. He was my best friend and he was so smart and I am going to miss him very much. It has been real hard on me and the family but he is no longer in pain and made it 11 years with us. RIP Rocky

I'm sorry to hear it. I have a 12-year-old Min Pin and I'm starting to sense the beginning of the end. I'm not sure I'll know the right time to "pull the trigger".

That sucks man. I know how you feel. It's hard to make that decision.

Very sorry to hear that. Been there before and will be there again.

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

RIP. Sorry to hear it. I recently had a rough few years where I lost a dog and 4 cats, all of which I had for at least 5 years. Fortunately I only had to put one of them down and it was easily the hardest thing I ever had to do.

I didn't want to click this thread 'cause my best friend is getting old too. Take solace in his unique qualities and the resulting memories. Great dogs can't be replaced, maybe there's a reason for that...

That is something that I won't do. If an animal gave me years of love, I can at least put away my own feelings to do what is right for the animal. My cat had squamous cell cancer on his tongue. He was getting to the point where he couldn't eat anymore, so I called it. Even though he was still getting around and not in pain, I wasn't going to let him die a slow death.
